Description:

Ted Cohen, Senior VP of digital development and distribution for EMI Music, talks about the changing music industry from the point of view of the label and the artist. Since digital music arrived, record labels no longer dictate who the next big band will be. Today, labels have to build partnering networks to expose new music. He points out that artists should have a strong sense of self and not try to copy others. In addition, they need to reconnect with their fan base to avoid becoming one hit wonders.
