Alex Lemieux, a club owner and band manager in Montreal, talks about the differences in government aid for the arts between the US and Canada. Lemieux explains that there are very few patrons in Canada. Instead, the bands have to apply for grants themselves. However, to have access to government aid, one needs to be an established artist.
