Terry Cravens of USC's Thornton School on His Goals as a Teacher

Terry S. Cravens
Terry S. Cravens is Professor and Chair of the Winds and Percussion Departments at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, and a specialist in the bass trombone. In addition to his teaching work, he is a member of the Pasadena Symphony, the Los Angeles Master Chorale Sinfonia and the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra. He has also performed with numerous symphonic organizations worldwide, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the San Antonio Symphony, and the Ojai Festival Orchestra.

Terry Cravens, Professor of Trombone at USC's Thornton School of Music, shares his priorities as a teacher, and his sense of the great responsibilities as a teacher, mentor, and life coach that he has to his students. He also discusses how he structures private lessons with the trombone students he teaches.
