Music Industry Profile: Jerry Moss of A&M Records

Jerry Moss
Jerry Moss is co-founder with Herb Alpert of the legendary A&M record label, for which he worked until 1994 – more than thirty years total. During that time he worked closely with a who’s who of American pop music - Burt Bacharach, The Carpenters, The Police and Janet Jackson among many, many others. He now runs the Almo Sounds label with Alpert, which has released albums by artists like Garbage, Ozomatli, Imogen Heap and Gillian Welch, as well by as Alpert himself. Moss is also an avid breeder of race horses – his horse Giacomo won the Kentucky Derby in 2005. In 2006, Moss was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer.
