John Bourgeois
Colonel John Bourgeois (US Marine Corps, Retired), is Director Emeritus of the United States Marine Band, which he led from 1979-1996. His tenure with the Marine Band spanned nine US Presidencies, and he has been called the greatest influence on the direction and sound of the ensemble since John Philip Sousa. He is currently acting as a Visiting Professor of Music at Loyola University, New Orleans.

He shares his thoughts on the experiences he has had had, and shares some insider tips on how to audition for the ensemble and what such a life is like.
