Terry S. Cravens
Terry S. Cravens is Professor and Chair of the Winds and Percussion Departments at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, and a specialist in the bass trombone. In addition to his teaching work, he is a member of the Pasadena Symphony, the Los Angeles Master Chorale Sinfonia and the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra. He has also performed with numerous symphonic organizations worldwide, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the San Antonio Symphony, and the Ojai Festival Orchestra.

Terry Cravens, Professor of Trombone at USC's Thornton School of Music, discusses life as a working musician and music teacher. He shares his thoughts on getting the most out of lessons and practice sessions, the duty of a teacher to his or her student, how to thrive and survive as a working musician, and some key aspects of being a brass instrumentalist and trombonist.
