Description:

David Purcell from NYU talks about getting started in artist management in the music industry today. He suggests to spark up a rapport with a band you want to work with and speak with other artist managers. He talks about the importance of asking questions, observing what other bands are doing correctly and incorrectly, and isolating trends. He advises to model yourself after bands that have had moderate success and isolate a venue you believe would be appropriate for your band or artist. Mr. Purcell also says to get as many research books on artist management as you can.
