Sergio George
Producer, pianist and record label head Sergio George has produced hits for many of the leading lights of salsa music, including Marc Anthony, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, and La India. He is a co-founder of a SGZ, a Latin music record label now distributed through Los-Angeles based Spanish-language media conglomerate Univision. He is a native of East Harlem, New York.

Description:

Producer/arranger Sergio George discusses his background. He started off playing piano as a musician and then moved to Columbia to join a band. Sergio believed that his experience in Columbia helped him progress musically but he still decided to go to school to learn as much as he could about music. He describes his first big break when he arranged music for a singer on a record which became popular leading to further connections with popular Latin artists. Sergio also talks about how important it is to be persistent and dedicated when pursuing a career in music.
