Songwriter PJ Morton visits Loyola University, New Orleans to discuss his approach to the craft of songwriting. In this segment he explains why he chooses to write soulful music (citing Stevie Wonder’s “Love’s In Need of Love Today” and The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” as two examples), and what he hopes to communicate to listeners in his songs. He also discusses his influences and what his New Orleans background lends to his writing.
