Geoffrey Schulman
Geoffrey Schulman has worked on all sides of the record business – in retail, as an artist manager, as an A&R rep, as a radio and marketing director, and as an entrepreneur, for companies like Arista Records, Island Records, A&M Records, as well as his own Agitprop Bureau, an artist management and consulting firm. He currently heads the Commercial Music Management department at Austin Community College.

Geoffrey Schulman, Geoffrey Schulman, a longtime marketing veteran, artist manager, radio promoter, A&R rep, and now a member of the Commercial Music Management faculty at Austin Community College, shares with us some of the hard lessons he’s learned over the course of his varied career. In particular he offers advice to artist managers on how best to serve their clients’ interests, to artists on how to find a manager and think strategically about a recording career, and to anyone interested in a label job on what working for a record label is going to mean in the years to come.
