Mike is the Marketing Communications Manager at Berkleemusic, the continuing education division of Berklee College of Music. At Berkleemusic, Mike is responsible for the day to day marketing of Berkleemusic's online music courses and coordinates all design, copywriting, editing, positioning, sponsorships and affiliate partnerships as well as management of yearly advertising buys and coordination of publicity and copywriting contractors. Prior to his position at Berklee, Mike was the Marketing Manager and Product Manager at Rykodisc, where he oversaw all marketing efforts for label artists including Mickey Hart, Jeb Loy Nichols, Morphine, Jess Klein, Voices On The Verge, Bill Hicks, The Slip, Pork Tornado (Phish), Kelly Joe Phelps and Frank Zappa’s estate. Mike is a regular contributor to Making Music magazine, and has been quoted in The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, and Muso. He is also a course writer and class leader for online music and business courses at CNET Networks. In his spare time Mike consults for local bands and plays guitar and bass for the Boston-based collective The P. James Magic Show. Mike also teaches music business courses for Berkleemusic.com, including Music Marketing 201 and The Future of Music and the Music Business. |
