John Simson is head of SoundExchange, the US organization responsible for collecting royalties for music performed via non-terrestrial radio and distributing those royalties to the artists so featured. He is also an attorney and a former artist manager (Mary Chapin Carpenter, Steve Forbert) who has long been involved in advocacy and legal matters within the music business as a whole.
