Former President of the storied Rykodisc label and founder of Slow River Records, George Howard is an accomplished musician, producer, executive, and educator. He currently holds posts as Assistant Professor of Management at Loyola University, and editor and frequent contributor to Artists House. He is the author of Getting Signed! An Insider's Guide to the Record Industry, and Publishing 101, both aimed at educating aspiring artists in how to succeed in a music industry game that at times seems rigged against them.
John Snyder is President and founder of Artists House Music, as well as Conrad N. Hilton Eminent Scholar in Music Industry Studies at Loyola University New Orleans. A distinguished producer, Snyder has worked on over 300 albums including over 30 Grammy nominees and five Grammy winners, and has held executive posts at several major labels.
Debbie Cavalier is the Dean of Continuing Education at Berklee College of Music's online extension school, Berkleemusic. Cavalier leads the development of Berklee's award-winning distance learning courses and is a frequent speaker at national distance learning conferences. A trained musician, seasoned publishing professional, and music educator, Cavalier has produced many educational publications and instructional DVDs for Berklee Press and Warner Bros. Publications. A prolific author, Cavalier has penned over one hundred music education publications and arrangements. Cavalier graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music, holds Master's degree in Education from Cambridge College, and continues to further her studies in business and distance learning. She is also an active children's music artist with Debbie and Friends.
Musician, educator, and consultant Mike King is a veteran of several prominent independent record labels and has over 10 years' marketing, project management, and artist development experience in the music industry. Mike is the managing editor and directs the marketing efforts for Artists House Music. He also authors and leads several online marketing and technology courses for CNET, and is a contributing writer for Making Music magazine. He currently lives in Cambridge, MA and serves as Marketing Communications Manager for Berkleemusic, the online extension school of Berklee College of Music.
Randy Funke is the website and multimedia programmer as well as the system administrator for the Artists House website. He is based in Norwalk, Connecticut where other responsibilities include work as a recording engineer and video editor for many of the Artists House media projects. He is a musician as well, and plays guitar in his band, King for a Day. In addition, he is a studio engineer and consultant for Mavericks Recording in New York and the Clubhouse Studio in Westport CT. He has worked extensively on a variety of successful recordings and DVDs over the last five years and has worked closely with many well known producers and engineers in the Rock and Jazz genres. He has been with Artists House since 2002.
