Since 2005, Matthew VanBesien has been Executive Director and CEO of the Houston Symphony. Prior to taking this position, he worked with the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Phoenix Symphony.
Steven Brosvik currently serves as General Manager of the Houston Symphony. Prior to this post, he served as Vice President and General Manager of the Baltimore Symphony and as Executive Director of the San Antonio Symphony.
Susan Darrow is the Director of Marketing for Branding and Customer Experience for the Houston Symphony. She is also an on-air host and producer of a morning drive-time music program on KPFT Houston, 90.1 FM.
Aurelie Desmarais is the Senior Director of Artistic Planning for the Houston Symphony. She has worked with directors such as Hans Graf and Christoph Eschenbach. Previously, she was Artistic Administrator for the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, Canada. In addition to her work with orchestras, she has served as guest host on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's national classical music program, MOSTLY MUSIC.
Arthur Kent Jr. is a public relations manager for the Houston Symphony. Kent is a contributing author of Crisis Response: Inside Stories of Managing Image Under Siege (Gale 1993). He is a graduate of the Army Language School and the Command and General Staff College, and a retired Lt. Colonel of the Army Intelligence Reserve.
