She wanted a place that would allow her to figure out what she wanted to do. Desrochers explains that while she knew she wanted to study singing, she was too old to have an opera career. Instead, Cal Arts has let her discover her love of teaching and the theatrical aspect of singing. Desrochers shares her hopes to teach at a college level in the future. Cal Arts integrates schools and has all types of activities taking place. Cal Arts also allows her to act on her unusual ideas with guidance.
