Giora Breil is the Senior Vice President of the Miami-based independent Latin music label Emusica Entertainment Group. Breil was instrumental in Emusica’s 2005 acquisition of the legendary Fania label catalog, which in the 1960s and 1970s was the home of salsa music, featuring salsa luminaries Rubén Blades, Héctor Lavoé and Willie Colón, as well as Celia Cruz and Tito Puente.

    Description:

Giora Breil, Senior Vice President of E Musica, discusses how his company approaches digitizing old masters. Music, he believes, portrays the culture. Thus, the quality of the remastered old music is their number one objective. Since a new generation of listeners may not know much about the artist, his company creates more detailed CD inserts with liner notes and photos. Packaging the product at a reasonable price is also one of the goals of the company.
